Be read
Every kind of reader Inkbreaker offers, all of them human. Trade peer notes, leave comments in the margin, find beta and sensitivity readers, join a Chapter, enter competitions and play writing games with other writers.
Peer feedback ›
It is free for everyone. Feedback is human and specific, the queue keeps the exchange balanced, and you choose who you trade with.
Inline comments ›
Comments are free for everyone. Each one can hold a short back-and-forth, so a reply lands under the comment it answers instead of starting a new thread. When a note has been dealt with, mark it resolved and it steps back, dimmed and out of the way, until you want to look again. You decide whether a piece takes comments at all, and you can turn them off at any time without losing the ones already there. Comments live alongside your work, never inside it. They stay out of what you publish, and out of what you export: a comment belongs to the reader who wrote it, so it is not carried into a file you might send on.
Reading heatmap ›
The heat is built from anonymous, aggregate reads. We keep one row per paragraph, never one per reader, so you see the shape of attention across everyone and never who read what. Turn it on over your own piece whenever you want. It stays off by default and only you can see it, so reading stays calm for everyone else. Reading analytics is part of Inkbreaker Pro, and your free trial includes it.
Direct feedback requests ›
Direct requests are free. The writer gets a clear ask and can take it or pass, and you can turn requests off if you would rather not receive them.
Sensitivity reads ›
Offering, giving, and requesting sensitivity reads are all free. The matcher looks at overlap, who has room, and who is least loaded, and surfaces a short list, so you always have more than one name to choose from.
Beta readers ›
Reading, offering, and requesting are all free. What you trade is your time: list yourself as a beta reader, and keep your delivered reads level with the reads you receive. Every request carries a word count, content warnings, and a deadline, so nobody is guessing.
Chapters ›
Anyone can join a Chapter and take part for free. Creating and running your own Chapter is free too, including the member cap, invites, announcements, and the group forum.
Competitions ›
Entering is free, and your rank, blended score, and the vote tally are always visible. Pro adds the per-metric breakdown behind the engine's portion, so you can see exactly where an entry landed. Your free Pro trial includes it.
Chapter forums ›
It is free for every member. Threads carry light reactions, the person who asked can mark the reply that helped, and you can follow a thread to keep up when it moves. Only the Chapter's members can read or post.
Messages ›
Reading and replying are free. Starting a direct message is part of Pro. Threads carry read receipts, typing, mute and archive, search, and block-from-thread, with links and emoji in every message.
Reading ›
All of it is free. Rate and review books, keep private or public craft notes, share a note with your followers, and let your continue-reading position follow you across devices.
