Format Fit Checker

Check your copy against the limits of where it runs.

Claim your desk

The Format Fit Checker measures your copy against the format it has to live in, a meta description, a tweet, an email subject line, an ad headline, and tells you whether it fits, sits close to the edge, or runs over. It counts words, characters, and reading time against the real limit for each one.

For each format you get a pass, close, or over verdict and only the measures that matter for it, plus a read on the structural signals a strong piece of that copy usually has. Check against one format or several at once and get a single line on how the set holds up. Paste copy or load a piece, and it reads it on the spot. It is part of Pro.

What it does

  • Measures words, characters, and reading time against each format’s real limit.
  • Gives a pass, close, or over verdict for every format you check.
  • Reads the structural signals strong copy of that kind usually carries.
  • Checks one format or several at once, on pasted text, a saved piece, or your live draft.
