Revision Lens

See what to sharpen in a draft.

Start free

The Revision Lens reads a finished draft for three things worth a second look: where its lines break, which of the five senses it reaches, and any cliches it leans on. It surfaces them so the choices stay yours.

Each line is marked end-stopped or running on, so you can see the rhythm of the breaks. The senses you have touched and the ones you have not are laid out plainly, and any worn phrase is flagged. It never rewrites a word.

The Revision Lens showing line breaks, sense coverage, and a flagged cliche in a draft

What it does

  • Marks each line end-stopped or enjambed, with the run-on count.
  • Shows which of the five senses the poem reaches, and which it misses.
  • Flags cliches and a draft that leans abstract.
  • Surfaces what to sharpen without rewriting your words.
