Translations
Translate your own work, paragraph by paragraph, beside the original.
Make a translation of a piece or a whole collection and every paragraph opens empty, paired with the original's. You write each one beside the paragraph it answers, and the desk keeps count of how many are done.
The desk: the original sits beside your translation, one paragraph against its match, and a tap moves you to the next. When the original changes: paragraphs edited since you translated them are flagged, with the changed words marked, so you know what to revisit. Collections: an edition of a collection carries every chapter, and a chapter added to the original later joins the edition in one step. A translation you already have: bring it in and pair it with its original, paragraph by paragraph. Readers: link the language versions of a piece and readers choose the language they read in. Working together: put a translator and a reviewer on each edition, send chapters for review, and leave notes for the author on the paragraph they are about. The glossary keeps names and terms written one way, and You wrote before shows how lines like the one you are writing were translated already. The Sentinel checks an edition against its original: terms written differently from the glossary, paragraphs left as the original, and paragraphs the original changed. Nothing is machine translated. Every word is yours.
What it does
- Every paragraph of the original, paired with an empty one in the new language.
- The original beside your translation on a wide screen, and the matching paragraph pinned above the caret on a phone.
- Paragraphs the original changed since you translated them, flagged with the edited words marked.
- Editions of whole collections, with each chapter's progress at a glance.
- Linked language versions, so readers choose the language they read in.
- A glossary of the work's names and terms, and You wrote before: lines like this one, already translated, to use again.
- A translator and a reviewer on each edition, with chapters sent for review and approved.
